Welcome to my travelblog...
I'm the husband to Teresa, the father to Rebekah and Jonathan, Christian, geek and owner of NavigateTomorrow.com.
I enjoy riding my motorcycle... anywhere. This blog is my chronicle.
"Fall Leaves"
I really love the fall... though yesterday's storms were a bit much! The wind has most of the leaves on the ground now. This afternoon I took this picture of two leaves... again - to show how good the closeup is on the iPhone.

"I Went To DrupalCampIndy and All I Got Was This T-Shirt"
Well... yes - I did go to DrupalCampIndy on Saturday - but I got a lot more than the shirt. It was a great day of learning more about Drupal and interacting with some great people. (Drupal is a web page framework... kind of like the frame of your house... once that's installed - we finish your website...) Rebekah was kind enough to demo the shirt :) (she's so awesome that way... )

So - nothing really fancy or awe-inspiring this morning - but I'm always impressed with the iPhone's low light abilities. This room had the curtains drawn - it was early evening - still pretty good exposure...
"Fall Harvest"
Two pics today - just to demonstrate how almost useless the zoom is on an iPhone 4...
The first image is from my front yard, just after they harvested the beans this year (the farmer alternates beans and corn).
Beyond the technical frustrations of the zoom - I really do love these pics... there's something totally amazing about a field that's just been harvested...

from the same spot... zoomed in. Though the shot is nicely framed - you can really see the pixilation and color distortion... with a little re-touching - it would look great :)

"Hockey Night in N.Ky"
I play ice hockey with a team called The BlueGills - http://www.bluegillshockey.com.
We have a good time - though 1/2 the team is under 25... and I'm getting "too old..." lol.
This is during warm-ups... Since I spend a lot of time laying on the ice - I figured that would be a good angle for the shot... :)
Taking a quick break from the iPhone Marathon - I watched the Apple presentation on my iPad yesterday - and decided to try some screen captures. Both the iPad and iPhone will take a snapshot of your screen by pressing the main button and Off button at the same time.
Pretty good pics (scaled down to 650px wide)
Steve introduced the new iLife '11 - pretty cool iPhoto and iMovie updates. We got a sneak peak of OS X - Lion - really nice... and the new MacBook Air... which could really have a place in a web geek's workflow... instant on, up to 256g of flash storage... nothing superfulous... and 2.8 pds. If I was on the road more, with no need for video editing... hmmmm this would definitely be a temptation...

"Shadows in the Night"
Last night I was outside trying to see the deer that the dogs were barking at... (there are around 11 of them in our woods somewhere... - and no - you can't come over and go hunting...) and I took this picture with the porch light behind me... kind of cool.
The flash on the iphone isn't great - but hey - its a phone... never-the-less - it provided enough light for this eerie looking shot.

"Four Trees"
This is looking into our backyard from a wooded area next door. We're blessed to be surrounded by woods - and farmer's fields, and open fields... you get the idea.
The barn is ancient - we have no idea how old... but its in good shape and its home to horses, chickens, cats and some old farm type junk :)

"We've All Done It"
It is a gorgeous Saturday here in SE Indiana... time for triming the bushes out front for the last time before winter...
Now... we've all done it... at least in my family. I've done it. Jonathan has done it. Teresa has done it... - well - ok - Rebekah hasn't done it - she doesn't do front yard trimming...
And oooohhhhh how I hate having to plug yard implements into the power outlet... cause at some point - its going to happen...

No worries - fixed in 10 minutes - we've done it so many times - I have those replaceable ends on our extension cords :)
Have a wonderful Saturday!
(one of the great things with the iPhone and iOS4 - touch the screen to focus... Though it doesn't have a macro lense - the iPhone does a pretty good job of focusing even at short distances - this was about 4")
"The Wing"
I started this blog when I rode my '84 Goldwing to Sussex, NB and back this past May. Its an amazing machine - 26 years old, over 110,000 miles (180,000km) and it just keeps on going! I'm not sure why - but pretty much every where I've been in the past 6 years with this bike, people come up to talk about it - even guys on way nicer bikes!
This trip was 3,000 miles round trip... I was teaching at Bethany Bible College in Sussex for a week - but it was 3 days there and 3 days back... so the bike was pretty loaded down. Besides clothing etc., I had a bunch of computer/camera equipment in those bags as well... so I was "extra" careful... I have so many great stories from that trip - you can read more at the beginning of this blog...
On the 2nd day out I stopped at McDonalds for breakfast - #1 combo - cream in the coffee please...
3,000 miles and it never missed a beat....

"Window Washing"
I don't travel enough to enjoy the perks of the "First Class" Lounge at airports - so it was a pleasant surprise when I bumped into a friend of mine (http://www.doccrandall.com) in the Cincinnati airport and we found out we both had a layover in Chicago - and he invited me to hang out with him in United's Red Carpet Club for the duration. (Its definitely a nice perk...)
While waiting for our flights, we were chatting away - and I looked out of the window to see this guy popping out of the cockpit window to do some pre-flight cleaning... I had to laugh... United pilots sure took their slogan seriously - worldwide service... including washing the windows and checking the oil I'm sure lol (yes - I know he's not the pilot... it was a funny thought at the time).

I ride A LOT of miles each year. Keeping my bike in great shape is one of my priorities.
I only use honda motorcycle parts.
